Rs.50,000 per month to displaced families in Meethotamulla

President Maithripala Sirisena today ordered the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) to provide a payment of Rs.50,000 for three months to families displaced by the Meethotamulla tragedy. DMC Spokesman Pradeep Kodippili said the decision was made at a meeting held this morning at the ministry. Rs.50,000 will be paid to each family for rent payments until they are provided with a new house. Kodippili also said that 60 housing units will be provided to some of the victims today.
